About Black Devils

Born to Compete

The Black Devils are a Canadian Airsoft team from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.  The founding members have been playing together since 2006. Our team roster hasn’t changed much since the early days other than taking on some new, younger players. We travel as a team to play airsoft and promote Saskatchewan’s biggest Milsim event together.

OUR STORY;
Back around 2006 we were diehard regulars at Battlefield Paintball playing paintball with our individual friends and groups. Rutger, Hollywood, Bandit and The Mexican. Over time our friends stopped coming to play paintball with us, and found ourselves with no teammates to play with. We were essentially strangers but recognized each other from playing against each other every weekend. So we looked at each other and said, “wanna play together?” We started joining up and playing as an organized group every weekend after that, although we didn’t have a name yet.

The next year, Hollywood approached the group with an idea to go play in a huge paintball event in Oklahoma. Unanimously the four of us agreed that it would be a great idea. We applied to play with a special ops squad on the Allied team for D-Day Oklahoma. We actually had to submit resumes in order to be accepted to play with the Rangers. The Rangers didn’t accept just anybody. You had to have a military or law enforcement background and be a veteran paintball player. Thankfully we were accepted into the Rangers. Bandit and Hollywood decided we needed a team name for our attendance at D-Day. The connection was drawn between Canadians joining Americans and playing on a special forces squad for a D-Day reenactment. The obvious choice was The First Special Services Force (AKA The Devils Brigade)*.  We had an amazing time in Oklahoma and had some epic battles. By our third year, the Canadian camp became the the unofficial meeting place for the Rangers.

In addition to traveling to play Oklahoma D-Day for 3 years we attended several other paintball events such as the Annual Night Game and Risk Game in Regina, D-Day in Moose Jaw and Asquith’s Big Game. Around 2011 a subtle shift happened to our group; we discovered Airsoft. Originally we got into Airsoft to supplement our pew pew addiction while paintball fields were shut down during their off season. Then Battlefield Paintball closed their doors. We were devastated but found that our new found sport, Airsoft, could provide us with the thrills we craved. Soon, we were full on Airsofter’s.

Like our paintball days, we began attending Airsoft events in other locations. The legendary Fort Qu’appelle Hospital, Iceback and Red Dawn in BC. We began studying the sport and particularly the events. Then late in 2015 we decided to host/promote our own event. In 2016 we launched Operation: Loyal Serpent.
